Product Description
Alucid Tablet is an over‑the‑counter antacid and anti‑flatulent medication used to relieve symptoms of excess stomach acid and gas — including heartburn, indigestion, acid reflux, bloating, flatulence, and gastric discomfort.
Active Ingredients
Each tablet typically contains:
- Aluminium hydroxide (250 mg) — neutralises excess stomach acid.
- Magnesium hydroxide (250 mg) — also helps neutralise acid, providing balanced antacid action.
- Simethicone (50 mg) — an antiflatulent agent that helps reduce gas, bloating and discomfort by breaking up gas bubbles in the gastrointestinal tract.
By raising the pH level in the stomach (i.e. neutralizing excess acid), Alucid relieves acid‑related discomfort and helps ease indigestion and related gastric issues
Indications
Alucid is used for:
- Relief of heartburn and acid reflux (hyperacidity)
- Relief of indigestion, gastric pain and gastric discomfort
- Relief of flatulence, gas-related bloating and discomfort
How to Use
- Adults and children aged 12 years and above: Chew 1–2 tablets before meals (or when needed), or as directed by a physician.
- Not recommended for children under 12 (use alternative formulation — often a suspension — for younger children).
Precautions & Warnings
- Should not be used by individuals with severe kidney (renal) impairment.
- As with all antacids/over‑the‑counter medications — avoid overuse. Prolonged or frequent acidity may require evaluation by a doctor.
